Casas na Areia, a magnificent experience
Casas na Areia, initially a family home, quickly developed into a project inaugurated by the architect Manuel Aires Mateus. In 2010, this family understood the importance of sharing with friends and guests the culture ans customs the people live in/lived in Comporta. With a unique design that connects and old and the new, this is a beautiful project.
Casas na Areia are characterized by their thatched walls and sandy floors that remind us of the old Fishermen’s houses. The simplicity of the interior space gives it a unique beauty.
During your stay you ca enjoy the proximity of the beach to enjoy the sun, see the village, observe the wildlife that characterizes this place (such as dolphins and many birds) and taste the local wines.
The houses Casas na Areia
Houses in the sand consists in 4 houses:
House 1
The traditional thatched house holds the living area, with a fully equipped kitchen to prepare meals, a long wooden table, and a living room where you can relaxe in the sofas, contemplate the view with put your foot in the sand. The sand floor (heated in winter) invites guests to slow down, encouraging serenity and togetherness.
House 2 and 3
These white minimalistic houses have a bedroom and en-suite bathroom each, in a calm and cool atmosphere with a view to the surrounding nature.
House 4
This house has two bedrooms and two bathrooms, which can easily be used independently, or connecting to one another – the ideal solution for those with children. You can also count, on the exterior area, with a small outdoor pool, which faces the magnificent rice fields, which offers us a beautiful and refreshing view perfect for ending a day watching the sunset.
