Christian Louboutin’s new villas

The iconic designer Christian Louboutin, world-renowned for his red-soled shoes, has brought his bold and sophisticated aesthetic to the hospitality world with the launch of his boutique hotel “Vermelho” in Melides, Portugal. The project now enters a new chapter with the addition of two villas, each with its own distinct style inspired by different design and décor influences. While maintaining the artistic signature and meticulous attention to detail of its creator, these new accommodations offer guests unique visual and atmospheric experiences, further broadening the range of options available. The first villa, just a few minutes from the existing hotel, is a two-bedroom escape designed by Egyptian architect Tarek Shamma with interiors by Louboutin. The second, called “la maison du bateaux,” sleeps four to six people and is inspired by traditional Alentejo houses.

It provides a little space for creative inspiration and peaceful reflection, and it may accommodate up to four people. Inside, gentle hues and thoughtfully chosen accents foster a feeling of warmth and tranquility, while expansive 360º views from the rooftop terrace showcase breathtaking sunsets. From the hospitable living areas to the privacy that shields them, every aspect of the home embodies Christian Louboutin’s audacious and poetic vision. It is a haven where beauty permeates every nook and cranny, where nature and design coexist harmoniously, and where creativity is allowed to flourish.

LA MAISON DES BATEAUX

La Maison des Bateaux

Infused with natural elements from the region, the serene palette of white and blue turns this house into a true Alentejo retreat, where life flows at the unhurried rhythm of the surrounding rice fields. Designed to host up to six guests, its style embodies Christian Louboutin’s poetic vision, blending local authenticity with refined artistry. Inside, every detail has been carefully considered, creating an atmosphere that combines elegance with inviting warmth. Large windows and open spaces frame sweeping views, best enjoyed from the landscaped garden or the generous balcony. Outside, a sun-drenched deck surrounds the private pool, offering the perfect spot for a refreshing swim. Here, simplicity and luxury meet in perfect harmony, making it an authentic escape into the beauty of the Alentejo.

Comporta and Melides

The Comporta region continues to grow in popularity, offering an ever-expanding selection of luxury villas and boutique hotels. Here, golden rice fields stretch towards the horizon, and storks glide gracefully across the sky — a scene that frames the area’s distinctive holiday homes, often built with thatched roofs, wooden pergolas, and a style that blends tradition with modern elegance. Staying in Comporta is also an invitation to explore its neighbouring villages  as Melides and the many beaches that line this stretch of the Alentejo coast. You’ll find shores for every taste: beaches with rolling waves for surfers, calm waters for swimmers, dramatic cliffs, or endless stretches of white sand. Whether you come in the lively summer months or during the quieter low season, there’s always space to breathe — and even the chance to discover deserted beaches in the middle of August.

Beyond Comporta itself, the surrounding area offers a selection of remarkable villas that promise unforgettable stays, each with its own character and charm, waiting to be discovered. There is no doubt that your vacation in this region will be unique.
